Mets kept pace with the Pirates all game as the game was tied 4-4 going to the 9th when Jeff Innis gave up two singles and gave way to John Franco who gave up a go ahead sacrifice fly.  Mets got the tying run on in the 9th on a walk to Dave Magadan and a sacrifice bunt but Dave Gallagher lined out to CF and Mackey Sasser flew out to left to end the game.
