Press Release: Daniel Palka named International League Player of the Week





Syracuse Mets first baseman/ outfielder Daniel Palka has been named International League Player of the Week for the week of June 13-19. Palka hit .440 (11-for-25) with five RBIs, two home runs, four doubles, nine runs scored, and three walks in six games against Norfolk.

Palka has reached base in 20 consecutive games, hitting .367 with 20 RBIs, five home runs, six doubles, 16 runs scored, and a .432 on-base percentage during that stretch. The 30-year-old also has hits in 12 straight games and has a hit in 19 of his last 20 contests.

This is the first time this season that a Syracuse player has won a weekly league award.

Palka previously was named an International League Player of the Week on May 19, 2019 with Charlotte.
