Brian Joura Mets360.comMark Canha and Brandon Nimmo each had two hits and drove in three runs, as the Mets snapped a two-game losing streak with a 7-3 win over the Angels Friday night in Anaheim. It was the 15th loss in the last 16 games for the Angels.

Metstradamus: The Ones Who Return And The Ones Who Never Left"They’re getting a lot of guys back soon and the Mets will need every single one of them. MeGill only went 3 and 1/3, giving up five hits including a two run HR to Brandon Marsh in the second, but struck out four and only walked one. It was a fine first step for Megill. As for Alonso, he was 1-for-5 with a bloop hit...But Friday’s 7-3 win over the Angels was powered by the top of the lineup..."

NY Post: Brandon Nimmo’s three-RBI night propels Mets past Angels. Nimmo, who entered the night 3-for-29 (.103) in June without an extra-base hit, homered in the fourth and delivered a two-run double in the sixth. He also walked during a second inning in which the Mets scored three runs to set the early tone.

NY Post: Max Scherzer’s rehab moving quicker than Mets expected. "The veteran right-hander has been throwing from a mound in his rehab work, according to manager Buck Showalter, and will soon progress to facing hitters in live batting practice."
